Artificial intelligence (AI) will compete alongside humans in the UK general election on July 4. If elected, 59-year-old AI Steve Endacott will become the world's first AI lawmaker.

Steve Endacott is one of several hundred candidates vying for parliament in this year's general election in the UK. His campaign style is very different from others. He is using an AI-created avatar instead of his face in election campaign leaflets. "We're forming a team," businessman Steve told Reuters. After this election, we will be recruiting more AI candidates across the country. We see this as the beginning of building some big and democratic blocs.

Charity worker Iona Johnston said, "We are using AI in many areas like work and social networking. Why not go into politics? It can change the way we live.

Endacott said he would run as an independent candidate from the Brighton Pavilion constituency as he was frustrated with traditional politics. His name will appear on the ballot paper, "AI Steve."

However, when asked about AI Steve, the British Election Commission said that if he wins the election, Endacott will be an MP and not his AI version.

However, AI Steve does not seem to have much chance of winning the election so far. Most local voters seemed reluctant to vote for the AI candidate. According to Jim Chick, a 37-year-old accountant in Brighton, an MP should be able to go to Parliament and speak for voters.

Another resident, Andy Clauson, 42, said AI and politicians have one thing in common. None of them can be trusted.
